No matter how perfect the preparations for a wedding day there's no controlling the weather.
As a wedding photographer however I always try to incorporate the elements of the day into the photo story as they quite often play a big part and certainly create memories.
I recetly had the pleasure of photographing Ellie and Joe's weding . The day started with leaden skies, contant drizzle and the occasional heavy cloudburst...disaster.. not so. One of the tools I live by is an extremely accurate weather app which gives minute by minute updates and excellent longer range forecasts which was showing the showers clearing and blue skies appearing just around the time of the ceremony. It meant the story of the day started with wonderful photos of the family & ushers all pitching in moving floral arrangements to the marquee through the rain soaked garden, bridemaids under umbrellas and the bride staring out of the kitchen window hoping the garden didn't turn into a scene from 1917. By the time Ellie arrived at the church the day had transformed into the perfect blue sky summers day a total contrast to the scene that morning. Regardless of the weather, the day will make great memories, make provision for the weather but most of all don't let it spoil what will be a fabulous day.
